Look beyond the headline.
We examine what a product does, who it serves and which questions a buyer should resolve before committing.
Software, services and supplier choices can get complicated. We help small businesses understand the options, ask better questions and focus on what fits their day-to-day work.

We focus on the full cost, setup effort, support, contract terms and value after the first month.
When an option fits, we aim to connect businesses with the provider so they can confirm details and make their own purchase decision.
Owner-operated service businesses, independent shops and growing teams need tools that work in practice. Our focus is straightforward: a clear use case, understandable costs and a realistic path to getting started.
Three practical guides for your next software or service comparison.
1. What problem will this solve? Write down one specific workflow and the result you want. A long feature list matters less than whether the tool handles that workflow well.
2. Who will use it? Count the people who need access and test the tasks they actually perform. Ask whether permissions, mobile access or additional seats cost extra.
3. What does onboarding involve? Confirm who imports data, sets up integrations and trains your team. Ask for a realistic timeline and any setup fees in writing.
4. How will support work? Check support hours, channels and what your plan includes. Try a normal question during a trial to see how the process feels.
5. How would you leave? Review cancellation notice, renewal terms and data export options before signing. Keep a copy of the agreed offer.
Build a first-year estimate that includes the base plan, additional users, onboarding, required hardware, integrations and usage charges. Add the staff time needed to migrate and learn the system.
Compare the introductory price with the renewal price. Ask which features require a higher tier and whether annual billing locks you into a full term. A monthly rate advertised with annual payment is different from a flexible monthly contract.
Finally, compare the expense with a measurable benefit: hours saved, fewer missed appointments or faster invoicing. Use a conservative estimate and check actual results after implementation.
A referral discount can be useful, but check the underlying terms. Compare the same plan, billing period, included services and renewal price on the provider’s website.
Ask whether a discount applies only to the first payment, whether it can be combined with other promotions and what happens if you cancel. Confirm any quote or special terms directly with the provider.
Consider the recommendation on its merits. A commission tells you how the referrer is compensated; it does not establish that a product is the best fit for your business.
Velocity Business Connect is a newly established independent research and referral business. We are developing resources to help small businesses evaluate software, services and suppliers with greater clarity. We do not claim partnerships, endorsements or customer results that have not been established.
We evaluate fit, total cost, onboarding, support and ongoing usefulness. Providers set their own pricing, eligibility and terms; buyers should verify current details directly.
